The Knee Anterolateral Ligament

An editorial published in the November issue of the Journal of Arthroscopic and Related Surgery summarized recent literature characterizing the so-called “Anterolateral Ligament” (ALL) of the knee joint. The ALL has been characterized as a lateral ligamentous structure theoretically involved in preventing rotational laxity. The authors theorize that concomitant ALL reconstruction may reduce residual rotational laxity if present after ACL reconstruction.
