Program Overview
The McLemore Birdsong Pediatric Conference offers a variety of case-based, clinical practice-oriented lectures and workshops covering a broad range of topics relevant to physicians, advanced practice providers, and nurses in pediatric and family practice settings.
DESIRED OUTCOMES:
Understand and apply evidence-based practice for challenging diagnoses including child abuse, tic disorders, eating disorders and gender dysphoria throughout childhood and adolescence.
- Apply current evidence in the diagnosis and management of pediatric headache, acne, and snoring/obstructive sleep apnea.
- Learn how to use the most up to date strategies to discuss and address pediatric obesity with families.
- Utilize the latest clinical guidelines for the management of pediatric asthma, chronic cough, and bowel obstruction.
- Discuss latest trends in child health advocacy and recognizing food insecurity.
- Analyze and examine the long-term effects of COVID-19 on children’s physical, emotional, and mental health.
- Practice diagnosis and management of pediatric anxiety and depression in the primary care setting.
- Meet licensing requirements for opioid training.
ACCREDITATION
Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the learner to earn up to 13.75 MOC points in the Amer- ican Board of Pediatrics’ (ABP) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit learner completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABP MOC credit.
