Program Overview:

When advising patients on diet and CVD risk reduction, providers base their recommendations on the evidence available. However current opinion on diet and CVD continues to be conflicted and controversial. This program will provide expert insight on dietary saturated fat, carbohydrates and the role of the gut microbiome in halting and reversing cardiovascular diseases.

Learning Objectives:

  • Evaluate the underlying evidence on the role of obesity, carbohydrates and the gut microbiome in the development of CVD
  • Integrate best practices with regards to lifestyle and dietary recommendations to prevent or manage ASCVD and related diseases, such as diabetes
