Bringing together experts from around the country, this activity will offer insight into a variety of experiences and research as well as provide highlights of the most current information by experts in the field relating to the peripheral and central nervous system implications of celiac disease. It will provide information about potential new therapies and the research, and it will educate participants about the future of this disease so they can provide better care to their patients.

TARGETED AUDIENCE

This activity is designed for physicians, nurses, pharmacists, dietitians, researchers, other healthcare professionals, and patients dedicated to improving the diagnosis and treatment of celiac disease.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Discuss the evidence-based approach to diagnosing and managing celiac disease relating to the peripheral and central nervous system;
  • Identify the complexities of celiac disease’s effect on the peripheral and central nervous system;
  • Describe future treatment plans that are closely associated with celiac disease;
  • Name new advances in predicting celiac disease and its implications for the peripheral and central nervous system;
  • Analyze why a gluten free diet is a critical component of celiac disease treatment.
