Dr. John Erickson is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon at Atlantic Medical Group Orthopedics in New Providence. With expertise in shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand procedures, he utilizes state-of-the-art techniques to treat the entire upper extremity. Dr. Erickson earned his medical degree and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School where he was named Orthopedic Surgery Resident of the Year. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, majoring in the Biological Basis of Behavior to improve doctor-patient communication and better understand the patient perspective. He completed a fellowship at the NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases on procedures for the hand and upper extremity, a fellowship in shoulder surgery at the Centre Orthopedique Santy in Lyon, France, and a fellowship with one of New Zealand’s most high-volume and well-published upper extremity surgeons.
