Overview
This activity is jointly provided by Academy of Medical Education (AME) and Postgraduate Institute of Medicine (PIM)
Supported by an independent educational grant from Medtronic, Inc.
This live, CME-accredited webinar explores current and emerging applications of insertable cardiac monitors (ICMs) in the management of cardiovascular disease. Led by a distinguished panel of electrophysiologists and stroke specialists, the program will highlight how ICMs support the detection and monitoring of arrhythmias, guide risk stratification, and play a critical role in long-term disease management.
Through concise expert-led presentations and an extended interactive panel discussion, attendees will gain insight into ICM technology advancements, patient selection strategies, and clinical implementation. The session will also examine real-world case applications and evidence to help translate data into actionable practices that improve patient outcomes.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Describe the utility of ICMs in detecting and managing ventricular arrhythmias, atrial fibrillation, and cryptogenic stroke.
- Discuss advancements in ICM technology, including device durability, longevity, and features that support continuous monitoring.
- Review the clinical indications for ICM use across different stages of AF management, particularly in pre- and post-ablation settings.
- Apply ICMs to real-world practice, particularly for arrhythmia burden quantification, long-term risk assessment, and stroke prevention.
- Evaluate evidence from landmark trials, including CRYSTAL AF and DIVERT Stroke, to inform guideline-concordant monitoring strategies.
