read more ↘ A prospective study was done to evaluate the accuracy of the new anterior cranial approach for intra-articular injections in comparison with the classical posterior approach.
All injections were given by two experienced shoulder surgeons and contained a corticosteroid, a local anaesthetic and contrast medium.
The new approach proved to be significantly more accurate. With the posterior approach, 78% received an accurate intra-articular injection, while 94% was accurate in the anterior cranial approach (p= 0.027).
