Treatment of surgical site infection (SSI) following cardiac surgery often requires prolonged antibiotic courses, repeated surgical interventions, and longer hospital stays. In addition, wound infection contributes to delayed healing, increasing the burden to patients and the cost of their healthcare. Although much work has been done to guide clinical practice in the prevention and treatment of SSI, wound management is often overlooked.
This webinar will focus on the burden of surgical site infection in cardiac surgery, infection reduction techniques, and the role dressing technology plays in wound management following cardiac surgery.
