Elvis Grandic

Adult Reconstructive Surgery & Total Joint Replacement, Boynton Beach, FL.

Dr. Chow will be conducting THA using the SuperPath® technique with Dr. Grandic moderating the event. Intraoperative questions will be received from both the VuMedi audience, and participants at the State of the Art Solutions in Hip & Knee Reconstruction Didactic Course in Chicago, IL hosted by MicroPort Orthopedics.

SuperPath® is a tissue sparing, posterior, THA technique that is designed to reduce post-operative pain, eliminate patient restrictions, and reduce hospital stay. SuperPath® uniquely preserves the integrity of the capsule by in situ head extraction rather than traditional dislocation. Additionally, a cannula provides excellent visibility while avoiding soft tissue releases. The technique merges SUPERCAP®, a femoral preparation technique, and PATH®, a microposterior approach.

Live THA using the SuperPath®Techinque

Dr. Chow has been heavily involved in the overall development of the SuperPath® procedure, which combines two tissue-sparing techniques, PATH® created by Dr. Brad Penenberg and SUPERCAP® created by Dr. Stephen Murphy. Dr. Chow has successfully performed more than 500 SuperPath® procedures, and is helping to train other physicians on this micro-posterior approach. He has published his experiences using this technique, and continues to present his findings internationally.

Dr. Chow has advanced training in both total joint replacement surgery and arthroscopic surgery. He has been formally trained at the New England Baptist Hospital, where he completed the prestigious Otto E. AuFranc Fellowship in Adult Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Chow also completed a fellowship in Arthroscopic Surgery from the Orthopaedic Center of Southern Illinois in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.
