This symposium is a 2 day educational and networking forum designed for physicians, nurses, advanced practitioners, pharmacists, allied health professionals, researchers, and students with a focus on the emerging science of genetic therapies and the evaluation, management, and treatment of Alzheimer's Disease, ALS, brain tumors and metastases, and stroke.

The mission of the Neuroscience Institute at Holy Cross Hospital is to promote advanced clinical care and foster high-quality clinical research in various neurological patient populations. We are committed to providing cutting-edge treatments for patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis with state-of-the-art diagnostics while promoting overall well-being by offering innovative health care services to all patients entering our doors. The Phil Smith ALS Clinic is directed by Eduardo Locatelli, MD, MPH and co-directed by Lauren Tabor, PhD.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Identify clinical syndromes and understand diagnostic considerations
  • Develop awareness of clinical management and resources available to support patients and caregivers
  • Identification of resources available to support patients and caregivers
  • Discussion of new and proven therapies for neurodegenerative diseases
  • Discussion of novel therapeutic targets with a focus on neuro inflammation across neurodegenerative diseases

In support of improving patient care, the Medical Educator Consortium is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
