OVERVIEW

The goal of this  virtual multidisciplinary Symposium is to provide clinicians with in-depth and interactive sessions on the critical aspects of care for patients with fibrotic interstitial lung diseases (ILDs). Sessions will cover advances in diagnostics of ILD, management of acute ILD exacerbations, and what’s new in lung transplantation for patients with advanced ILD. How to provide supportive and palliative care will also be discussed.

Note: This Symposium will occur during Pulmonary Fibrosis Awareness Month along with other educational and promotional activities. This includes a separate in-person activity for patients and their caregivers. The event will cover important topics related to the diagnosis, treatment and management of ILD, and provide a venue for participants to ask questions and share stories about their disease.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

At the conclusion of this virtual Symposium, the healthcare team will be able to:

  1. Describe best practices in the early and accurate diagnosis of Interstitial Lung Diseases.
  2. Describe the approach and management of Connective Tissue Disease related Interstitial Lung Diseases.
  3. Evaluate evidence based strategies for pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment of Interstitial Lung Diseases.
  4. Describe complications experienced by patients with ILD and management options for acute exacerbations

ACCREDITATION

In support of improving patient care, Thomas Jefferson University is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
