OVERVIEW

This course will benefit hospitalists and general internists, family physicians, pulmonologists, intensivists, physicians-in-training, and allied health professionals who care for patients with pulmonary diseases. Health providers who venture into the critical care setting will find this course increases their clinical acumen in these domains. After this course, participants will identify and treat drug-induced lung disease.

 LEARNING OBJECTIVES

At the end of this activity, participant should be able to:

  1. understand up-to-date therapeutic options for patients living with COPD.
  2. identify and treat drug-induced lung disease & diagnose and treat patients with severe ARDS.
  3. describe the importance of multi-disciplinary care in severe asthma & evaluate and manage patients in shock.
  4. prepare patients with advanced lung disease for lung transplant evaluation & utilize evidence-based sedation in the ICU.
  5. initiate and manage pulmonary care for patients with sarcoidosis & manage hematologic emergencies in the ICU.
  6. identify and treat autoimmune-related lung disease & describe best practices in the diagnosis and management of sepsis
