OVERVIEW

The early detection of lung cancer involves a complex care pathway and interdisciplinary approach. The 5th Annual Lung Cancer Screening Summit offers physicians and nurses a comprehensive lung cancer update. Topics for the summit include keynote lectures on lung cancer screening and public health and health disparities specifically designed to meet the educational needs of our audience. Attendees will hear from lung cancer faculty experts on lung cancer risk, lung cancer screening, diagnosis, and implementation of lung cancer screening programs.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Compare clinical trials focused on early detection of lung cancer among high-risk individuals.
  2. Build community outreach strategies for equitable lung cancer screening to reduce screening disparities.
  3. Discuss current topics in lung cancer screening including identifying barriers vs. facilitators, annual adherence, incidental findings, and tobacco treatment counseling.
  4. Adapt techniques for utilization of multidisciplinary teams in the implementation of lung cancer screening best practices.

In support of improving patient care, Thomas Jefferson University is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
