Adventure awaits in the breathtaking landscapes of Snowbird, Utah, where the world's foremost experts in wilderness and mountain medicine will be convening for a summer conference like none other. This joint event being hosted by the WMS and ISMM, with support from ICAR & UIAA, provides an opportunity for you to immerse yourself in cutting-edge research, participate in dynamic hands-on workshops, engage in thought-provoking discussions in small group settings, and connect with a global community of medical professionals who are passionate about the outdoors, all while enjoying the beauty of one of North America's most sought after destinations. 

This event has both virtual and in-person attendance options!

TARGET AUDIENCE

Medical professionals who engage in winter wilderness activities, including mountain travel, who counsel individuals who take part in such activities, or who practice in locations in which they are likely to encounter individuals who have been injured in such activities.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

After attending this conference, the participants will be able to:

1. Understand the limitations of practicing medicine in austere environments
2.  Adequately prepare for practicing medicine in austere environments     
3.  Recognize and treat common injuries and illnesses that occur in the wilderness
