OVERVIEW

Experts from Seattle Children’s Neurology, Epilepsy, Neurosurgery and Genetics Programs will be discussing best practices and novel approaches to managing and treating epilepsy.

  • Session 1: Novel Clinical Programs
  • Session 2: The Future of Epilepsy Surgery
  • Session 3: Research and Innovation

TARGET AUDEINCE

The symposium is open to physicians, advanced practice providers and other medical professionals who care for pediatric patients with epilepsy. Also welcome are parents and caregivers of children and teens ages 18 and younger with epilepsy.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Participants will be able to incorporate best practices in their clinical setting to expand their differential diagnosis and initiate workup and referral. Goals:

  • Evaluate neuromodulation options and how they impact the patient.
  • Assess innovations in epilepsy surgery precision including diagnostic tool (TMS).
  • Review advances in pediatric epilepsy research.
  • Discuss sudden unexpected death in epilepsy (SUDEP).
  • Provide patient-centered perspective on epilepsy care.

ACCREDITATION

Seattle Children’s is accredited by the Washington State Medical Association CME Accreditation Committee to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Seattle Children’s designates this live education activity for a maximum of 3.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

This activity meets the criteria for up to 3.5 hours of Category I CME credit to satisfy the relicensure requirements of the Washington State Medical Quality Assurance Commission.

Category 1 CME credits may be used by other providers for their education requirements. Please check with your accrediting board to verify if category 1 CME credits can be used.
