This 1.5-day symposium will provide an opportunity for leaders in electrophysiology (EP) research and clinical practice to interact in a forum which will encourage an open discussion of research, challenges, and future directions in EP. The prestigious international faculty will focus on global issues and the latest EP developments, encouraging innovation and collaboration. Discussions on current changes in the healthcare environment and how these changes affect clinical practice will be included.

Educational Objectives:

• Describe treatment strategies to reduce AF risk factors known to be effective in reducing AF burden
• Highlight the research and clinical results in catheter ablation procedures that focus on targets or drivers of the AF substrate
• Explain how stroke prevention with VKA and non-VKA oral anticoagulants, and left atrial appendage occlusion procedures, can be used more effectively to avoid underutilization of stroke prevention therapies in patients with AF
• Increase awareness of cardiac implantable electronic devices, allowing greater ability to address questions, problems, and other issues related to CIEDs in their patients
• Describe His bundle pacing options and newer cardiac devices such as leadless pacemakers, subcutaneous ICDs, and wearable defibrillators
• Discuss the role and impact of long-term ambulatory recording methods, including patient wearables and implantable monitors
• Recognize the advances in the management of ventricular arrhythmias such as antiarrhythmic drug options, premature ventricular depolarization (PVD) ablation, VT-substrate ablation, sustained VT ablation, MRI image-guided VT ablation, voltage mapping, ICD implantation, and cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT)
• Recount the challenges and new opportunities in lead management and appreciate new technologies in imaging and surgical rescue that have the potential to improve outcomes
• Evaluate the clinical experience and potential of left atrial occlusion devices to manage thromboembolic risk associated with AF
