We invite you to join our virtual two-day event on Interventional and Acute Pain and Persistent Pain.

The aim of day 1 is to define the role of interventional approaches in the treatment of cancer pain. Professor Ahmedzai will outline the historical development of the use of nerve blocks in cancer pain and discuss how such techniques can be applied as part of a modern integrated approach. We have a number of speakers who will then specifically present the indications for a variety of anaesthetic, neurosurgical and orthopaedic interventions. The role of spinal cord stimulators and intrathecal opioid infusions will also be presented.
The day's lectures will provide a modern overview of the use of these techniques in the management of pain in cancer patients.

The aim of day 2 is to outline the latest treatments in acute pain. Speakers will present the latest treatments in acute pain and will present the evidence-base for these treatments. The day will also include talks on persistent post surgical pain and its prevention. During this time of Covid 19, we present an up to date picture of how the pandemic affects acute and chronic pain practice

Audience

The days will appeal to pain, anaesthetic and palliative care doctors and nurses, and other health care professionals involved in the treatment of cancer pain.
