Course Description

The shoulder arthroplasty webinar will focus on recent advances in shoulder arthritis care, shoulder arthroplasty design, and surgical techniques. The webinar faculty will present and discuss updates on indications, design improvements, and surgical techniques for shoulder arthroplasty that have the potential for improved outcomes in patients with shoulder arthritis. Latest advances in shoulder arthroplasty including guidance technology (computer navigation, and patient specific instrumentation), stemless arthroplasty, and non-arthroplasty treatments for shoulder arthritis will be discussed. The webinar audience including orthopedic surgeons, and orthopedic residents and fellows will have opportunity to interact with the experts in the field of shoulder reconstructive surgery.

Educational Objectives

After participating in this activity, clinicians should be able to:

  • Determine candidacy for non-arthroplasty surgery in patients with shoulder arthritis
  • Describe key advances in implant designs in shoulder arthroplasty
  • Recognize the indications and technique for guidance technology
  • Describe the current indications for reverse shoulder arthroplasty
