Pulmonary Hypertension Summit will provide you with an overview of the practical issues in the diagnosis, evaluation, and management of patients with pulmonary hypertension. The Summit will synthesize the World Symposium on Pulmonary Hypertension proceedings. Expert speakers will present the most recent advances in the context of challenges faced by physicians and other health care providers caring for these patients. Other key features are a patient-oriented session on the nuts and bolts of patient management and a pulmonary hypertension clinical immersion hands-on workshop.

By Attending, You Will Be Able To:

• Critically review the recommendations for definition, diagnosis, clinical classification, risk stratification, and treatment of pulmonary hypertension (PH) advocated at the 2018 World Symposium on PH.
• Discuss the appropriate diagnostic strategy for pulmonary arterial hypertension, including the roles of echocardiography, ventilation-perfusion scanning, and right heart catheterization, and describe their use in therapeutic strategies.
• Review the characteristics and management approaches to PH associated with left-sided heart disease or pulmonary disease.
• Summarize advances in research on the pathophysiology and treatment of PH and discuss potential improvements in clinical trial design and outcomes measurements.
• Recognize concomitant conditions that occur in patients with PH, including sleep disorders, congenital heart disease, and chronic thromboembolic PH, and review their diagnosis and treatment.
• Describe practical approaches to the care of patients with PH in the intensive care unit.
• Initiate practice-based approaches to decreasing adverse effects and increasing adherence to treatment.
• Address patient-based obstacles to their care, especially exercise and diet plans and use of oxygen when traveling.
