Welcome to the first edition of the “WSCTS-RCS International TAVI Congress, The Aortic Valve Meeting” supported by the Scottish Cardiac Society, the WSCTS, and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. We are also supported by the Society of Cardiothoracic Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland.

The treatment of Aortic Stenosis has changed dramatically in the last two decades. Alain Cribier revolutionised the treatment of Aortic Stenosis by introducing TAVI in 2002.

This meeting will focus on all aspects of the Aortic Valve including Diagnosis, Investigations, Surgical and Non-Surgical Treatments, Timing of Treatment, Infective Endocarditis, but with a special emphasis on TAVI. Some of the top authorities in the field of TAVI, and Aortic Valve Disease will be faculty at the meeting.

The meeting will be of interest to Cardiologists, Cardiac Surgeons, Anaesthetists, General Practitioners, and Medicine of the Elderly.

All abstracts presented at the meeting will be published in the “Journal of Cardiothoracic Surgery”. The meeting has CME accreditation (14 CME points).

It will be Spring in Edinburgh in February/March, and this is perhaps the best time to visit Edinburgh. Edinburgh has a number of other attractions, and we would be delighted to see you here for the First Edition of the “WSCTS – RCS International TAVI Congress, The Aortic Valve Meeting”
